Gap identifier in Rules

Post by TradingHeroes »

Hi,

I would be great if there was a way to identify gaps in the Rule Manager. I would like to test how far price goes beyond a bullish or bearish gap.

Thanks,
Hugh

Hello,

Thanks for your suggestion.
In this case, would you prefer to have a core value rule or a core conditional rule ?
What is the most handy way to use it for you :
- a core value rule which returns the difference between the open/close of the 2 last candles
- a core conditional rule which returns true or false when the gap is higher than an user input value (in pips for example)

Having the first, you can create the second easily

I think a core rule would be more useful because I could set limits on the gap size and see if there is any correlation between gap size and success of the trade.

...and as you say, it could be used to create a conditional rule.

Thanks!

Hello,

A new rule has been added in the last release, freshly published.
It's important to notice that the returned value is expressed in Pips.
If the gap is bullish this value will be positive. If the gap is bearish, this value will be negative.
