Horizontal line - how to use it as a trigger (checkbox "Use as a rule reference")

Post by Tomasz Kot »

When you draw a horizontal line, there is a checkbox "Use as a rule reference".
However I cannot find any way in Rule Manager to use created line as a reference (for example to be able to use crossing it as a trigger to pause the backtest or open a trade).

How can you use such a line as a reference?

There is a rule in the "Price Breakout" category, called "Reaches S/R Level", explained on the wiki :
https://www.naked-markets.com/Wiki/Price_breakout

This rule uses the horizontal lines displayed on the chart. If the price reaches it, it will trigger your action. For example, it will pause your backtest if you set the rule "pause".
If you uncheck the checkbox "use as a rule reference", your horizontal line will no more be related to the rule and will not react on it.

Another rule, is called "Reaches S/R Area". This is the same but relies on the rectangle, instead of the horizontal line object.
