Upgraded "Go to date"

Post by Tomasz Kot »

I believe that the option "Go to date" would be most useful if it moved all the charts to certain date, enabling to continue backtest from a certain datetime (now it only highlights a certain date, but it doesnt change a current moment/candle for backtesting).

Would it be possible to add such an option (or a sub-option)?

Could you please elaborate on this ?

Right now, the "go to date" feature is synching the selected chart to the selected data. It's possible to do it for every opened charts if you need it, this is quick to design. This feature has been added mainly to see the past bars and analyze them if needed.
However, it looks like you want to jump to a date in the future, as we understood, doesn't it ?
And it looks like you want that the backtest date would change accordingly ?

Thanks

Yes, exactly, I would be very useful if the option "Go to date" (or additional, similar option) would:
- change the backtest date accordingly,
- plus be able to move the backtest date to the future,
- plus change all the charts at once.

That would be a useful feature.

A little update on the topic : we are thinking about the ways of implementing this.
We will add the possibility to sync all the charts when going to a date but having the possibility to go to the future as to be discussed
