Trailing SL with price action

Post by Dobed »

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to trail Sl with the new swing low/high as price moves.

Could someone please guide me on this?

Thank you.

Hi,

Could you tell us what you'd like to achieve by trailing the SL ?
Like a 3 bar exit rule or something else ?

Thanks

Hi,

I utilise a trailing SL as my trade management plan.

So I'll simply trail SL under the new swing low or swing high as price moves in my direction.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks.

I have a similar trailing method. I move SL to a previous TP level with each TP. Would love to know how to make this a rule.

Hi,

If you want to trail your position by using the last swing low or high, you can use the rules "Last swing low/high" in the "Price" category.
Then, you can define an exit rule (you can attach it to your order by drag&dropping or by setting it in the Entry rule) as follows :

Here the condition is just an example to trigger the trailing SL, it can be whatever you want.

The "Last swing low/high" rules are defined here :

We advise you to test the parameters "count" and "void bars" to find what you need
