Exit rule on Bollinger Bands not working correctly

Hi,

I setup a couple of rules to exit when price closes outside the opposite BB. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it closes the trade on the other side of the MA. It happens both on the short and long sides.

Thanks for your report,
The exit rules you're using, they are included in an entry rule (which is maybe in a setup rule) or you're drag&dropping the exit rule on an opened order in the bottom tab ?

In the first case, could you test the same thing with only 1 attached Setup or Entry Rule (ie: only sell setup) ?
In the second case, does it occur with the same order type (ie : sell trade) ?
Otherwise, is it possible to give us your rule to investigate further ?

Hi,

There are no setup rules, this is a standalone exit rule that I drag and drop. I enter the trade manually.

The rules are simply to close a long when price closes above the upper BB band or close a short when price closes below the lower BB.

The error seems to happen randomly with both buys and sells.

If you look at the chart I posted, the first trade on the left is a buy and that closed correctly.

Then the next trade is a sell and that didn't close below the lower BB.

Trades 3 and 4 are sells and close correctly.

The next 4 trades are buys and they close when price closes above the MA, not the upper BB band.

Attached is one of the rules, the other rule is just the opposite.

I'll do more testing, but it looks a little strange.

I tested it again, and it seems to be working now. But I'll report if I see it again.

I created a new BB test with some different parameters and it's not working correctly. I was able to document the issue.

I've just purchased a license and followed TradingHeros' example using Bollinger Bands. I get the same errors as he describes, although it is claimed in the reply that the bug is now fixed. My version is 1.0.8735.17472.

Thanks for your report. Indeed, there was an issue with the Exit Rule, triggered during Setup Rules pause.
It has been fixed and will be available in a minor release, ASAP, likely this week.
